ABOUT

YNDAN is a Filipino, female-founded clothing label that champions slow fashion among the community through its collaboration with local artisans.

Based in Indang, Cavite, YNDAN takes its roots from an endemic Philippine tree of the same name, which grows abundantly in the town and carries decades of culture that can be traced all the way back to the Philippine Revolution led by Andres Bonifacio. The town itself was first known for its Katipunan name, "Walang Tinag," which means immovable.

Indang currently houses the Bonifacio Shrine, an important historical landmark that commemorates the nation's journey to freedom and independence. It is with this same spirit that YNDAN strives to preserve the cultural tradition of handloom weaving by passing it down to younger generations.

The founders of YNDAN were initially inspired by the idea of bringing together two distinct yet deeply connected communities made up of weavers and sewers who, besides sharing Indang as a hometown, share the intricacies of a textile tradition and most of all, a passion for weaving stories with their hands.

You'll find that each piece is uniquely designed with tropical patterns and consciously crafted weaves that adorn the sleeve cuffs and collar. All of this with the goal of bringing Filipino culture and tradition to the forefront of sustainable fashion one weave at a time.
